Top 5 Draft Pick???

Is it just me or does it look like at the end of this year the bengals will have a top 5 draft pick?  First we bring Chris Henry back after we cut him to "teach him a lesson."  Then we decided to cut arguably one of the best tackles in bengals history (W. Anderson), a probowl running back (R. Johnson), and a pro bowl defensive back (D. O'neal).  While i understand how Rudi was losing the starting running back race to Chris Perry, I can't believe that we didn't at least try to trade him for a solid 3rd receiver until Henry is healthy.  The Bears are dying for a running back of Johnsons  caliber, yet they don;t have any receivers worth taking so I understand why nothing came of that.  Yet Deltha O'neal was picked up by the Patriots as soon as it was possible to have a contract finalized...I hate to say it but they seem to have the "winning solution" down, so i think they know something more then we do.  Anderson should have been kept out of respect, but mainly for the reason that our offensive line let Palmer get slaughtered during the preseason and we need anyone who could help.  Thus I conclude that we are headed no where this season.  while I am a die hard fan and I'm sue it won;t come across this way, I can't get over the evidence that we are headed down the gutter.

At least there could be one upside to this situation.  We may get a great draft pick and if we do, we could easily pick up a top running back.  According to associatedcontent.com these are the top 5 backs in college football at the beginning of the 2008 season.

1. Chris (Beanie) Wells, Ohio State- Wells had a couple of injuries that bothered him through much of the season last year and was still able to put up an amazing season. He finished with 1,600 yards and fifteen touchdowns, and was the Buckeyes only offense during much of the title game against LSU last year. Wells has a great combination of size and speed that can be absolutely lethal to defenses. He has one of the best stiff arms college football has seen in years, and he isn't afraid to use it. An offensive line that should be one of the best in the country to run behind will carve paths for Beanie to get to the secondary, where he will be tough to tackle. Expect improvement from last years numbers.
2. Knowshon Moreno, Georgia- Moreno had an outstanding freshman year last year, and one can only expect things to get even better from this youngster this year. Georgia will be a terrific team, and Moreno will benefit from having Matthew Stafford making the defenses stay honest with the passing game. Moreno is more of a slasher that also happens to be quite powerful and a load to bring down in the open field.
3. DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma- With Allen Patrick now gone, Murray will shoulder the load for the Sooners and he should do a great job. Murray has an uncanny ability to break big runs, as is evidenced by his thirteen touchdowns last year in limited playing time. Sam Bradford will do a great job stretching the defenses and Murray will take advantage in a big way. Expect a huge sophomore season.
4. CJ Spiller, Clemson- Spiller is the lightning part of Clemson's heralded thunder and lightning attack. James Davis, the thunder side of the tag team, will also be a top running back. Spiller is the home run hitter with amazing foot speed and great vision of the football field. Clemson has had some difficulty on the offensive line in the past, but even with these problems Spiller has performed quite well. Expect Clemson to improve on last year's record and Spiller will be a large reason why.
5. LaSean McCoy, Pittsburgh- McCoy is another very young star in the making. McCoy showed his potential in a big way last year against arch rival West Virginia when he gained 148 yards against a defense that was stacked up to stop the run. The Panthers could finally put together a decent seasonthis year in the Big East, and if they do then they will have LaSean McCoy to thank for their turnaround.

As an OSU fan I'd love to see Wells end up a Bengal, but I highly doubt with his injuries that he will survive.  Yet, If Perry has a great season then we should probably invest in the offensive line if someone of that great of quality is available and worth a top pick.
