Well here we go again, another horrible season…
I honestly can’t believe how horrible our offensive line is. They allowed Carson Palmer to get sack on the first 2 passing plays. Due to their horrible play Carson had to run around constantly afraid he would get his head knocked off by a very experienced Ravens defense, which lead to many horrible passes/ dropped balls, bad plays in general. We need to do something about this line which has made me realize/ hope we take an offensive lineman in one of the first 2 rounds of the draft next year.
Chris Perry was a lot better than I expected him to be (except for his fumble), and I feel he would be a lot better with a offensive line to actually block for him.
I can’t get over how well Jonathan Joseph played today. He played like a true pro-bowl corner and I can’t wait to see him the rest of the season. Leon Hall played ok, as did the rest of our defensive backs, but Joseph far excelled in all areas of the defensive backfield(as well as scoring a touchdown).
I am pleased to see our defense looks to have gotten better, except for a few plays to which they were “tricked.” The fact that Flacco’s rushing touchdown came off a blown play just shows that the defense was at least covering all the receivers and didn’t expect a non-traditional running quarterback to scramble. While the first half receiver reverse was a trick play and should have been stopped, at least it wasn’t simply a running play that went for that many yards.
At the end of the 1st half I was excited, thinking that Carson was back to his old days and was using the no huddle to charge down the field. Then in the second half I thought we’d come out and be unstoppable, yet we blew it. Chad and TJ had no chance to catch anything and thus our offense stumbled.
I can only hope Marvin Lewis can get the team/ offense together and produce against the Titans for the home opener.
