So much for Marvin’s guarantee to win all home games this season…
WOW, this was the football weekend from hell for me… First, as I mentioned I went to the Purdue/ Oregon game, while I’m not a Purdue fan I did want them to beat a pac 10 school thus I was rooting for them. If you didn’t see it, they lost in double overtime… then since it was a double overtime game I had to conivince Purdue fans to rush me to a local bar to watch the OSU/ USC game, and we all knew how that went. Thus I was looking forward to a hopeful Bengals win, which didn’t quite happen, yet the worst part was that due to the high winds my power has been knocked out for over 24 hours, I missed half the game and I’m stuck away from home until it will be fixed “within a week.”
Like most Southern Ohioans I was without electricity for most of the game, but I did at least get to see the first half before I lost all power (to which I still am without). Although we lost, I did see a lot of hope and promise in the first half of play. Our defense looked amazing compared to last year’s/ last week, our offensive line seemed to step it up…while not at the level of play they should be, it was better than the preseason/ last week’s O-line, and Keith Rivers is simply amazing.
While I figured we may have a tough time against the Titans, I hoped Marvin would stay true to his word and go undefeated at home, yet that won’t be happening, and thus fan attendance will go down this year and into next. Maybe Chris Henry can be the spark we need to actually win and score touchdowns. I hated to write that last sentence, but we need any help we can get on offense.
