Am I the only one who still doesn’t understand the Cedric Benson move? If I’m correct Shaun Alexander is still available, has never been arrested, and is from Cincinnati. I know my last post involved the fact that Benson was a bad choice for an organization that is trying to turn the corner on a non-convict team, but I still don’t understand this move.
To stay with the convict theme, why wasn’t Chris Henry used if we needed a 3rd wide receiver so bad? He wasn’t even thrown to. Is it due to the fact that he missed the first 4 weeks and was rusty? I think it was due to the fact that he has never been a player to go over the middle and take a hit like all good receivers do. He has never showed the enthusiasm nor the commitment to the Bengals that I expected for a player who has been arrested so many times and given so many chances to redeem himself.
While the Bengals are 0-5 on the season and there is no chance what so ever of a playoff run nor even a 8-8 season, there is an upside. It looks like we should get some pretty good draft picks this year. Although I’m sure they will be wasted on a few other convicts, especially since Marvin Lewis (only person to speak against these recent bad moves) will most likely be gone due to a horrible season.
I honestly feel sorry for Marvin. When he came to the Bengals I had such high hopes for him and believed he was our future. He got off to a fast start, and then seemed to stall out with a couple 8-8 seasons. While he may have not given us a super bowl or even a playoff win, he did give us hope, great draft picks(before him our first round draft picks all washed out) and a strict code fo conduct for the players to adhere by. Thus while we may not have a great record and Marvin is to blame for some of it, I will miss him for his other abilities.

Dude, Marvin is going to be in cincy for awhile. i seriously would be very surprised if they fired him this year. although i think it should happen as his coaching has never really worked out, but that's just my opinion. I really do not see Mike Brown firing someone he actually gave some of his power to.
