First lets start with the cowboys, who minutes after hearing that Adam Jones will be out for at least four games this season decided to trade for Roy Williams form the Lions. Rodger Goodell stated that his suspension will be determined after this Sundays game. While Goodell went out on a limb to even allow Pacman to play again, Pacman stabbed him in the back by assaulting a body guard that the Cowboys assigned to protect him from his bad decision making. I honestly hope he never plays again simply due to the fact that he doesn’t seem to learn from his mistakes and continues to make them.
Now for the good news for the Cowboys… Today they completed a trade for Roy Williams (a Texas native) from the Detroit Lions for a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round pick in the 2009 draft. This should hopefully help Terrell Owens to not always be double covered and get the ball 30-40 times a game like he truly wants.
While it may look like the Lions have abandoned their season and have looked forward to the future, it almost looks like they will have to. Jon Kitna was put on Injured Reserve and will remain there for the rest of the season, thus ending any hope for a win.
Along the same lines of the Cowboys stories, the Chiefs also have a star player facing legal trouble yet they didn’t make a huge trade which Tony Gonzalez was hoping for. Larry Johnson has been served to appear in court on December 3rd for his assault on a woman by pushing her in a club.
Now for the least significant of these stories… Shaun Alexander was finally signed to the Washington Redskins to play a backup roll to Clinton Portis. In my mind Shaun was by far the best Running back available from day one of free agency, yet due to his age/ declining athletic ability many teams decided to pass on him. I foresee this paying dividends for the Redskins this year.
