Am I the only one who still doesn’t understand the Cedric Benson move?  If I’m correct Shaun Alexander is still available, has never been arrested, and is from Cincinnati. I know my last post involved the fact that Benson was a bad choice for an organization that is trying to turn the corner on a non-convict team, but I still don’t understand this move.

To stay with the convict theme, why wasn’t Chris Henry used if we needed a 3rd wide receiver so bad?  He wasn’t even thrown to.  Is it due to the fact that he missed the first 4 weeks and was rusty?  I think it was due to the fact that he has never been a player to go over the middle and take a hit like all good receivers do.  He has never showed the enthusiasm nor the commitment to the Bengals that I expected for a player who has been arrested so many times and given so many chances to redeem himself.

First lets start with the cowboys, who minutes after hearing that Adam Jones will be out for at least four games this season decided to trade for Roy Williams form the Lions.  Rodger Goodell stated that his suspension will be determined after this Sundays game.  While Goodell went out on a limb to even allow Pacman to play again, Pacman stabbed him in the back by assaulting a body guard that the Cowboys assigned to protect him from his bad decision making.  I honestly hope he never plays again simply due to the fact that he doesn’t seem to learn from his mistakes and continues to make them.

Now for the good news for the Cowboys… Today they completed a trade for Roy Williams (a Texas native) from the Detroit Lions for a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round pick in the 2009 draft.  This should hopefully help Terrell Owens to not always be double covered and get the ball 30-40 times a game like he truly wants.

I honestly need a new team to root for and am willing to do so if anyone can give me 3 good reasons to root for their team.

Just when I thought the Bengals season couldn’t get any worse( started 0-7, Carson palmer won’t play yet again/ has hardly played this year, Mike Brown continues to bring in convicts, Jeremy Johnson going down for the season in training camp, and the horrible offseason moves Mike Brown made) Keith Rivers goes down for the season with a broken jaw. While it was a legal block by Hines Ward on Keith Rivers (and had I been a Steelers fan I would have respected/celebrated the hit), I do feel it was quite vicious and excessive.

Keith Rivers was by far the only good thing and hope we had for this season. He is a stand up guy and led the team in tackles. He was also the only great linebacker the Bengals have seen since they drafted Takeo Spikes.
