a red river shootout where the teams didn't choke the week before!

Well, Oklahoma and Texas made it to the game this year with their respective top 5 rankings intact.  That is rare, as the teams usually choke the week leading up to it in "trap games".  This year's game should be a good matchup of two great passers in Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy.  Both are in the Heisman hunt and should finish the season with some great numbers.  The point of interest for me is not the stellar play of both QBs, but the lack of commentary on these two teams.  The media constantly speaks of what USC needs to do to get back to the title game or which SEC team will be there to face them.  I have news for the stupid media: Get over your East/West coast bias!  Oklahoma is probably going to end up playing BYU in the title game, in fact, I hope it is Boise St. vs. BYU so all the haters of anything non-SEC can shut up.  True, the SEC is a great conference, but they all have to play each other.  There should not be a 1 loss team from the SEC in the title game over an undefeated (even if they are from the mountain west).  Now, on to the game:

Oklahoma has a strong offense (of course) led by Sam Bradford and Manuel Johnson.  This duo has been lighting up the field with long scoring plays due to Johnson's incredible speed.  They lost Malcom Kelly to the NFL and they seem to have found a suitable go-to guy.  Texas has a high-powered offense as well with Colt McCoy at the helm; however, I just don't see him having much success on the Sooner defense, as they hold the edge in this one.  I think Oklahoma scores often and holds the Longhorns in check, winning 34-17.   Now, after this game is over and Oklahoma spanks Texas (number 5), Oklahoma better commandeer all of the title talk, as they will be sitting pretty.  Texas is a deserving number 5 (not like michigan a year ago, oh I went there) and for Oklahoma to beat them like they will makes a serious statement.  Boomer Sooner is gonna do well.   Now, all Ohio State has to do to get back to the national title is...  just kidding.

  1. boise st or byu has no business bein in the national championship game. If they played in the big 12, sec, big ten or even the horrible pac 10 they would have at least 1 loss but prolly 2 so they be out of the picture. Texas leads the nation in sacks and look for them to pressure the heck out of bradford n get the 28-24 win. Ohh and by the way are you kidding about Michigan look what they did with a healthy Henne destroyed florida if it wasnt for hearts fumbles the game would have blew out the most overrated player in college football

They play in the mountain west or whatever it is give me a brake. i hope texas plays byu so i can say i told u so and remeber it took a hook in ladder play to beat oklahoma thay play works as much as as a hailmary. non bcs schools have no business playing in the bcs games unless they beat talented team which they never do
