With the release of Edgerrin James by the Arizona Cardinals, the Bengal’s may have a shot at picking up a veteran back that can backup Cedric Benson. Will they pull the trigger on this deal?... probably not. After the draft and release of Chris Perry, I highly doubt the Bengal’s will chase after a potentially washed out running back, yet I would applaud him being a Bengal.

A couple of blogs ago, I ranted, and perhaps even raved, at the running game situation that, in my humble opinion, contributed to the Cincinnati Bengals' humiliating--nay, emasculating--defeat at the hands of the 49ers in Week Fifteen.

Back in 2005, when the Bengals last won their division and the team was rolling very well, I enjoyed being right. I'd talk about how well Carson Palmer was going to do, or how many touchdowns Chad Johnson was going to score--and I'd be right. Now, being 2007 and the fact the Cincinnati Bengals are in the tank, I hate being right.

Watching the Cincinnati Bengals this season has been a frustrating experience--unless you are a Browns or Steelers fan. The defensive woes are legendary. In fact, I've been a die hard fan for thirty years, and the last decent Bengals defense I remember had Tim Krumrie on it, along with David Fulcher. That's been almost twenty years ago.
