Marvin Lewis – Played by Burt Reynolds. Lewis, the current Bengals’ coach, led the team to an AFC North title in 2005. Of course, both men are known for taking a bunch of convicts and turning them into a football team (Reynolds did it in 1974’s “The Longest Yard). Reynolds will be singing a big-band version of “Jailhouse Rock.”

Pittsburgh over Baltimore- Regardless of Big Ben being hurt, they are simply a far superior team. I know Baltimore is playing very well so far, but they had the benefit of an unexpected bye week for their last game. Thus I see the Steelers taking this in a defensive low scoring game.

So much for Marvin’s guarantee to win all home games this season…
WOW, this was the football weekend from hell for me… First, as I mentioned I went to the Purdue/ Oregon game, while I’m not a Purdue fan I did want them to beat a pac 10 school thus I was rooting for them. If you didn’t see it, they lost in double overtime… then since it was a double overtime game I had to conivince Purdue fans to rush me to a local bar to watch the OSU/ USC game, and we all knew how that went. Thus I was looking forward to a hopeful Bengals win, which didn’t quite happen, yet the worst part was that due to the high winds my power has been knocked out for over 24 hours, I missed half the game and I’m stuck away from home until it will be fixed “within a week.”

AFC North Predictions
This is a Bengals blog so of course I'm going to pick the Bengals over the Titans, hoping that we can get our act together. Plus Marvin stated we'd go undefeated at home, so lets see what he knows...

It appears that the Marvin Lewis got the feeling that this would happen as well and vowed that the Bengals will be going undefeated at home this season. That alone is a big statement, but considering the home opponents and the current state of our team, I think Marvin made that statement as a last ditch effort to show he cares about Cincinnati even though he will most likely be out of a job at the end of the season.

It took me a couple of weeks to digest this development. Chuck Bresnahan became the first casualty of Carson Palmer's ire, being relieved of his duties as Defensive Coordinator not long after Palmer opined the Bengals couldn't win with the current coaching staff.

Thank God Marvin Lewis reads my blog.
Sunday, the Bengals took advantage of a paper-thin Browns defensive line to punch Kenny Watson through for 130 yards on thirty carries. His efforts, including picking up a touchdown, did set the Bengals in position for two field goals that helped lift the Bengals over the Brownies 19-14.
